Antique Coalport “Amherst Japan” Imari Shallow Bowl — 7 Inches

An exquisite mid-19th-century English shallow bowl in the “Amherst Japan” pattern, attributed to Coalport, John Rose & Company, of Shropshire, England. Rich underglaze cobalt blue and vibrant rust enamels depict chinoiserie pagodas and intricate floral boughs, accented with hand-painted gilding along the scalloped rim and central motifs.

The reverse bears a blue underglaze scroll cartouche reading “Amherst Japan.” A beautiful addition to a collection of English Imari, displayed in a cabinet, on a plate stand, or among Victorian tabletop antiques.
