Antique Royal Crown Derby King’s Serving Plates, Circa 1879–1895 – Pair

An exceptional pair of late 19th-century Royal Crown Derby serving plates in the celebrated King’s pattern, dating to approximately 1879–1895.

These striking English porcelain pieces showcase the sumptuous decoration for which Royal Crown Derby became renowned, with a rich deep cobalt blue ground, vibrant iron red, intricate floral and foliate motifs, and extensive hand-applied gilding. The elaborate Imari-inspired decoration creates a wonderfully layered, jewel-like appearance, while the unusual elongated form makes these especially beautiful examples for both serving and display.

Each plate measures approximately 11 inches long by 8.5 inches wide, giving the pair substantial presence without being oversized. Their distinctive shape is particularly striking displayed in a cabinet, on a wall, or layered into a collection of fine antique porcelain.

Both plates are in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. Minor signs of age and use may be present and are consistent with pieces dating to the late 19th century.
