Antique Keeling & Co. Chester Black Transferware Soup Tureen — Circa 1902
A grand English Staffordshire soup tureen by Keeling & Co. of Burslem in the Chester pattern. Deep charcoal-black floral transfers stand beautifully against an off-white body, with abundant cabbage roses, delicate scrollwork, and lush bouquets decorating its generous form.
Molded scroll handles complement the domed, fluted cover, which features a sculptural handle and an integrated ladle notch. Measuring 14.5 inches from handle to handle, this substantial covered tureen makes a striking focal point on a dining table, sideboard, or open kitchen shelf.
The underside bears the Keeling & Co. “Late Mayers” backstamp and Chester pattern registration number Rd 402155.
