Antique Allertons “Mabel” Flow Blue Plate with Gilt Scalloped Rim – 9 Inch

A beautiful antique English flow blue plate by Allertons in the desirable “Mabel” pattern. Rich cobalt blue decoration flows softly across the creamy white ground, creating the wonderfully blurred, almost watercolor-like effect for which antique flow blue is so loved.

The plate is finished with an elegant scalloped rim and generous gold gilding, adding warmth and refinement to the deep cobalt decoration. The surface shows lovely age-related crazing throughout, giving the piece the unmistakable character and patina of antique English pottery.

Beautiful displayed on its own, incorporated into a plate wall, or layered with other antique English transferware and flow blue, this is a wonderful decorative piece with plenty of presence.
